This hotel was outstanding! Impeccably clean, with delicious food and incredibly kind staff. They went above and beyond to solve a problem we had, arranging everything perfectly for the next day. Super organized and attentive. Highly recommended for an exceptional stay! Dinner was excellent, with an exceptional rice & curry and delicious kottu (a local specialty).

One of the best places we have ever stayed at. ❤️ Very clean and the family running this home stay is very friendly and helpful. Wonderful stay with Gihan and Dinu! We stayed twice for a total of 7 nights. A wonderful, authentic experience in Sri Lanka. They are extremely kind and welcoming. They speak English very well, and we were able to take the time to ask questions and discuss many topics such as culture, sports, politics, food, customs, etc. This allowed us to better understand this country. They truly care about their guests, making sure we have everything we need and giving great tips for visiting the city and its surroundings. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner if needed (we recommend trying it at least once because it's delicious). We did the cooking program, which involves buying ingredients at the market and then cooking together. It was great to see all the flavors they add to the dishes we enjoyed afterwards. They know a contact for a safari in Wilpattu National Park and can help organize it. Regarding the accommodation, it's located on a very quiet alley. There's a kitchen available and a pleasant terrace overlooking the small garden. The rooms are well-equipped and pleasant. We recommend a stay here for a wonderful human experience. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed! Jonti was always attentive, he kept the place clean and tidy, a kind soul to chat with! I enjoyed cooking and sharing food with my roommates, and just chilling out in the common area. Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

We had a wonderful stay here! The rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the accommodation is well located for visiting the sites of Anuradhapura. The hosts are incredibly generous and hospitable. They did everything to make us feel comfortable and helped us organize our visits. And above all, we had the best Sri Lankan breakfast of our entire trip!!! It’s located close to the main road about 100 meters inwards and therefore nestled away from the busy and noisy street. The villa is surrounded by a huge garden. There are two rooms downstairs and three upstairs. The beds weee quite comfortable and bathrooms were clean and modern. The host was exceptional in looking after our needs and prepared home cooked meals which all of us thoroughly enjoyed.

Golden Ray Villa is the perfect place to stay. Sanjeewa is the nicest person we have met in Sri Lanka, his food it's the most delicious we had, and each and every breakfast is diffetent and prepared with love. His attention to detail is amazing. The room was beautiful, super clean, and the beds are very confortable. The AC is very helpfull as it gets very hot in Anuradhapura in the hotter months. Inside there is this little garden, were you can relax, and a parking place inside (for us was very good since we had our own tuk tuk).

    Lovely relaxing stay that had a home stay feel. The host was very kind, she made us feel welcome and provided a good breakfast too. Spacious room that was clean and tidy, the Aircon was very good too. Onsite parking for our tuktuk and the pool was a great addition compared to others we had looked at online.

    Very friendly staff. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean with hot water in the on suite bathroom. Plenty of car parking space. Location was close to a lake. Transport was required to visit the religious sites. We would use this guest house again if we were visiting the area Good value for money.

    The staff are outstanding. Friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, and our vegan diet was easily catered for. The rooms were immaculately clean, spacious, and comfortable. There is free parking behind a secure gate, and the location is convenient for visiting local sites. The pool is beautiful and a great setting alongside which to eat a meal.
