The old hotel, but with Sharm. We had room with a view and it was amazing. Staff 1000% so professional and old school, I just didn't find anywhere else that amazing staff as in Shimonoseki and we visit many places. We were in love with this city.

The house was spacious and beautiful. The drinks provided were also a wonderful surprise that added to the luxury of the stay. The bedroom, and even the bathroom had beautiful views of the strait. I would love to start every day watching the boats with a cup of green tea. We were too late, but the sunrise is visible from the house!

We booked this hotel for it's amazing position and incredible views (day/night) of the Kanmon Bridge and the very busy Kanmon shipping lanes. It's about 4km from the Shimonoseki train station and a taxi is required to get here from the town/station area. The taxi from the station will cost about Yen2300. Our room on the 5th floor was huge by Japanese standards and had a balcony to sit and view the constant shipping chugging against the massive currents. The staff here were really friendly and attentive. There are no shops or kombini near the hotel but there is a small/basic shop in the hotel and vending machines on some of the floors. Would stay again for sure.
