The guesthouse’s location is superb, next to the church and the start of the hiking trail to Shkhara glacier. The village’s panorama viewpoint is just 3 minutes walk away, and you can be there easily in the early morning before the tourists arrive. The rooms are clean with stupendous views and en suite bathroom. Mamuka’s mother is a whiz in the kitchen: we booked dinner and breakfast with her during our 2 night stay and every meal was delicious. Home-made jams, milk from the family cows, produce from their garden and so on. Mamuka was also very responsive and helpful with advice and booking of transfer vehicle, and we learnt a lot about life in the mountains.

A very beautiful, old historic house that they have taken so much care of. You can understand that people love this small guesthouse and give their best to their guests! The decoration is amazing, keeping all the traditional elements of the region. Very clean, warm, comfortable beds with nice linens and good bathroom. The people that run this place are beautiful and very helpful, they made our stay in Ushguli comfortable and a great experience. We loved it!

The house is in the best location in Ushguli, with the most stunning view of Mount Shkhara. And the owner is an even more amazing person. He was even our horse riding guide — we rode to the Shkhara Glacier. The amenities in the house are varied and suitable for all kinds of people. I stayed here while trekking from Mestia to Ushguli and this was by far the best guesthouse I stayed in during the 5 days. Medea is an absolute star - she picked me up from Iprali, even though the road conditions were terrible and she made sure I was completely comfortable throughout my stay. Bath robes and slippers are available in the rooms (which is not the norm in guesthouses along the trekking route). The meal service was absolutely fantastic - fresh and varied food, including handmade pizza which Medea learned to make during her years living in Italy. Although the guesthouse is not directly in Iprali, it is absolutely worth staying here if you are trekking. Medea provides a level of service and comfort that you just will not find elsewhere.
