We loved everything about the Sir William! The staff is friendly, welcoming, and super helpful. The food is wonderful. The setting couldn't be more beautiful. The building is historic and very interesting. Our room was super cozy and the bed comfortable. I was sorry when our stay came to an end as it was the perfect base from which to hike and explore in the Hope Valley.

This property is an absolute charmer. Amazing hosts that make you feel like it's a home away from home. We stayed in the double room and the bathroom was huge and the bed was very comfy. The pub directly over the road serves great meals, and we had a great time exploring the peak area.

Very cosy, clean studio; 10 min walk from amazing pub (top 10 in Britain). Area is very nice and close to Bakewell and other spots. Loved the sheep theme, it was very cute. Self check in was very easy.

From the moment I booked the team at Merchants Yard went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible stay. Nothing was a problem for them, organising flowers as we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, booking a table for dinner, offering advice on things to do near by and much much more. On check in the team were brilliant, friendly welcome and a complimentary drink (thank you). Throughout our stay the team were amazing, always happy and made sure we had everything we needed.     Lots of character, location is picturesque, but the hotel photo is from the most flattering side. We overlooked bins, the car park and active drainage works we were NOT warned about before our stay....!!

    The hotel is a beautiful building, full of character. The food was excellent, we had breakfast and an evening meal and both were of a really high standard. Location is excellent to get out and explore the Hope Valley which is a beautiful part of the world. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of free parking available too.

    Graham was excellent, so friendly and welcoming. Great location, free parking, hotel was very clean, lovely views from the garden and the back of the hotel. The bedrooms and bathroom was very clean and shower was nice. On our first night we ate at the restaurant, food was excellent.
