It provides, for a relatively modes sum, the full experience of travelling inside Eastern Europe during Soviet times. Consider it more of a full immersion living gulag museum, than a budget hotel. Everything, from the aneamic shower, to the harsh lighting, the level of surveillance, and the incredible removal of anything that might be considered as a comfort feature, shows a level of attention to detail that is admirable.

The hotel itself it's very welcoming, decor, staff, ambience, it's really a pleasant place. The spa it's very well preserved and clean, and has everything one could ever need to relax and have a good time. The room was super clean and comfortable, the attention to details like little gifts or personalized welcome cards were the cherry on top! The restaurant it's also a must, very good food and professional staff. Breakfast was on point, a lot of variety and was the perfect way to end our visit to such a lovely place. Will definitely return, its simply one of the best hotels I've ever been!

I was warmly welcomed by a very kind lady who made me feel at home right away. The location is stunning and feels extremely safe, which gave me peace of mind during my short stay. The place itself is spotless — everything is well taken care of and very clean. It really shows that a lot of attention is given to keeping the accommodation comfortable and pleasant. Unfortunately, I was only passing through and couldn’t stay longer, but I truly would have loved to. It’s the kind of place where you can easily see yourself relaxing for more time. The staff were so very helpful and honestly, they made our stay, we had some bad news during our stay and had to leave early the next morning but they couldn't do enough to help us, even making us a packed lunch for our long journey ahead. There was a small covered area big enough to park our motorcycle which was really handy too. The room was clean and comfortable too.

Our family of five is on a summer tour of Europe. We've seen a lot of churches and museums and cities. They're all amazing but Hof Tschannen was exactly what we needed - a break in the country. It's a working farm. You'll stay with people from all over who just need a bit of time away from their own hustle and bustle. This is the perfect place. You can't be stressed in a place with bunnies and cows and ping pong and a pedal-go-kart. There's a local swimming (in Bodensee) spot and groceries a short drive away and you can walk into Germany for a really good pretzel or a boatride on the lake. Oh, and don't get me started on the (included) breakfast! Farm-fresh eggs, bread from the oven, local jams and honey and cheese and even homemade apricot yogurt! We skipped lunch most days that we stayed with the Tschannens. They helped us in every possible way and we are very grateful to our new Swiss Family!
