We had great conversations with both of them who didn’t shy away from giving us great recommendations about local spots to see and eat at! Their warmth and the homeliness of the Machiya itself was refreshing after staying in hotels at our previous cities. The place is clean, spacious and authentic with the furnishing and tatami floors. The onset within the machiya was the cherry on top. Overall the location of the machiya is within walking distance to the main Kanazawa station which was very convenient.

All in all, I was looking for a traditional Japanese experience and Matsusaki did not disappoint.

We even had a large Moses basket in the dining room for her to rest. The area itself is very cool- there was an arts and crafts fair there when we stayed. There is a beautiful forest walk too. Can’t fault the stay and can’t wait to return one day.
