i had the most fantastic weekend in Kumano Kodo, and surely Ashita no Mori helped in that. The accommodation provides top service in food, guidance about the area, info about the buses, etc. everything is super clean, and all what you need is there, even slippers and shovel for the river bank bathing (onsen)!

Very nice hotel with their own onsen onsite (public and private), which I enjoyed a lot. You can visit both throughout the day (even in the middle of the night). I would definitely recommend to get dinner and breakfast, there was an interesting variety of local and traditional dishes, which were very delicious. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It's a great hotel I wish I would have spend more than a night in. It exceeded my expectations and I hope I will be back one day!

I was very happy when I got to the hotel the atmosphere just felt really friendly and warm. I loved the bridge over the river to the onsen. The onsen was lovely, three outside pools and an indoor pool plus a private onsen for families or couples. The food was fantastic, eat slowly I ate too quickly and felt full too soon. There was a very friendly front of house staff member called Suchittra or maybe Sasayuri. I had a western twin room on the ground floor. The hotel was comfortably busy without being hectic. They have a shuttle bus and that was very handy from Hongu. When I left they gave me very good instructions how and when to catch the public bus to my next location.

The place is amazing, great location, amazing bathing halls, beautiful rooms and a fast of kings - we had our best meals of the entire trip to Japan in this hotel. This was by far my favorite stay, thank you so much :))))

Watarase Onsen Hotel Yamayuri features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 13 km of Hosshinmon Oji Shrine and 20 km of Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art.

Amazing public and private onsen. Beautiful and clean room. Kind and friendly staff. Would highly recommend staying here.

Located in Kumano Kodo, Sansuikan Kawayu Midoriya offers both Japanese and Western-style rooms. On-site parking and bicycle rental are available free of charge.

The room is big and has a great view. The staff is very helpful. They offer shuffle bus service to Hongu and Ukegawa which is really useful when you miss the last bus. The food is also great.

Sansuikan Kawayu Matsuya is situated just a 2-minute walk away from Kawayu Onsen bus stop.

Kohei is an amazing guest. He was very flexible in acommodating food choices for us and the quality was excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are big portions and very tasty. Rooms are spacious, very clean and the onsen very nice. The location close to the river and just in front of the bus stop is very practical. But above all, Kohei got us in touch with the local community, to experience a washi paper workshop and to visit an organic tea farm close by. I highly recommend his guesthouse to get a sense of the local life in the Kumano kodo area.
