With panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, The Bay Motel overlooks Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island. It features a nearby golf course, a free shuttle service and free private parking on site.

The Bay Motel is a 5-minutes’ walk from shops and restaurants; its location allows many hiking and trekking possibilities in the native forests of Rakiura National Park. A great motel close to all the various activities. We were picked up from the ferry and our bags left at the ferry terminal ready for our departure. Brilliant hosts and excellent service can defintly recomend this motel.

Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Free transfers to and from the airport and ferry terminal are available. The staff was so helpful before and during our stay, including a last minute request for a lift from the Ferry terminal to our hotel. The room was large and comfortable, perfect for our stay. TY

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals.

The self-contained studio units are adjacent to the main hotel building. The older-style accommodation upstairs in the main hotel offers shared facilities including a communal guest lounge overlooking the harbor, which offers tea and coffee making facilities. A wonderful three-star hotel with friendly staff, unbeatable location, and all you need for a comfortable stay. We stayed in a studio and it was wonderfully quiet at night. In the evening you can mingle with the locals in the pub downstairs. There is a good selection of food and drinks and the pub closes early so there's no noise. Everyone was helpful and ready for a laugh. Can definitely recommend it.
