Hotel Spalentor is located opposite the Botanic Gardens, a 5-minute walk from the Old Town of Basel and the University, and offers free bicycles, free WiFi, a fitness area and a quiet garden with a chestnut tree. It was a good choise. The hotel is in a very good location, walking distance from the old town, and there are a lot of bus and tram stations nearby (to get to the airport was very easy). The staff is very nice. We were celebrating a birthday in Basel, so we got an upgraded room and were invited to have champagne at the bar. The hotel very clear and pleasant. The bed was very confortable. There were fress fruits and lemonade free at the reception every day. The breakfast was delicious and varied.
