We spent the last days of our holiday at Zur Alten Mine and it turned out to be a great choice! We stayed in a lovely lake-view cabin which was fully equipped with everything you can wish for during your stay. We chose for the served breakfast which was a delight with very tasteful, homemade products and freshly baked bread. The owner Rainer knows the region very well and gave us advise on sightseeing in the area and even on the best route and roads to the airport. Also: go for his restaurant suggestions! You won't regret it! It was definitely a nice end to our tour through South Africa.

The food was amazing, I requested vegetarian which was really good. The waterhole were animals come to drink. We saw all the Big 5 (we did 6 game drives). It felt like a home away from home. Will recommend it to everyone.

Excellent food quality, the chef is very good and takes care of every guest requirement (some of the best meat in my life). There are many activities organized for every need, my 8 years old son can't wait to wake up in the morning, he learned how to fish and recognizing animals footprints in the reserve. The food was absolutely restaurant quality in taste and presentation. We had to cancel lunch one day as we were so full from breakfast. We saw all the big five and so many more animals in their natural habitat. Just stunning. We will be returning. Thanks for the best stay.
