Delicious breakfasts are served on the balcony that has amazing views of the valley and the Mahamevnawa Monastery in the distance. Madusha is a lovely host, organising tuktuks on our request. We were so sad to leave and couldn’t recommend it more!

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Everything was just perfect!! We have been there for 4 nights. Devaka and his family have been so nice and the food (breakfast & dinner) was really good. Devaka took us to a tea factory which was very interesting and also gave us a lot of helpful tips for the hikes and other stuff to do around. Room was small but had everything, also very confortable beds. The shower was also hot, what is very nice when it‘s a bit colder. The place was perfect, far away from the chaotic Ella but close enough to the train station. Thanks again to Devaka and his family. Highly recommended to stay there!!

A car rental service is available at the lodge. This was the place I loved most on our trip!! I wholeheartedly and warmly recommend it. There’s a peace and quiet here that we didn’t experience anywhere else. I woke up in the morning and took a yoga class by the rice fields, under trees where monkeys jump and birds sing. We booked the cooking class (2 adults + 3 kids ages 3–8) — the food was the best we had in Sri Lanka!!! The hotel is a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from the town center — close enough to get there easily, yet far enough to enjoy the tranquility and escape the noise and music from the restaurants. One of the staff members took him on a day trip to the Ella waterfalls. He was such a lovely guy — patient and a true gentleman. He guided us to waterfalls we probably wouldn’t have found on our own. The kids connected with him so much and had such a great time that they even wanted to invite him for ice cream afterwards. There were many more services the place offers that we didn’t get the chance to try. Ella is an amazing place to spend a few days, and this is a hotel I’d happily return to.

Both a bicycle rental service and a car rental service are available at the lodge. Lovely cottage, very private with stunning views and well situated for climbing Ella’s Rock. Very sweet family who cooked us lovely food and had an on-site tuk tuk for ease of driving us into town as the son has one. It was lovely to be away from the madness of the town but near enough to pop in for dinner if we felt like it. Loved watching the birds and monkeys in the forest around the cottage. Comfortable bed. Excellent Wi-Fi.

We also took a cookery class at the property and were able to enjoy home cooked meal together! 10 out of 10!
