We absolutely loved our stay at rock shade chalet!! The rooms were very comfortable and bright. The staff were absolutely exceptional - they were so attentive and polite. It was my boyfriend’s birthday during our stay and they surprised us with a cake! They grow a lot of their own food that they use in their restaurant so it’s all fresh produce. Excellent all round

We had two favourite stays (from 7) and this one is one of them. Really nice host, he spent nice time with us talking. Very nice family. The location was perfect. Peaceful place near to jungle. Nice garden, sounds of nature, view on lion rocks. Really nice breakfasts.

A small number of beautiful lodges in beautiful green surroundings. Everything fits together perfectly and is of good quality. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. The food is more expensive than outside but it is simply fantastic. We had one of the best vegetarian curry selection cooked after our preferences. The breakfast is also really good.

It was lovely and comfortable where we stayed in one of the lodges. The treehouse looked really nice too. The area was out of main Sigiriya, so was quiet, which is just what we wanted. The owner was really friendly and welcoming.

All was excellent . We loved the family who looked after us while we stayed. They cooked for us every evening with the best food we have eaten while in Sri Lanka ! Delicious! The breakfasts too were delicious with lots of variety! The room was spacious and had great aircon and was extremely clean. The family organised tuk tuk drivers and safari jeeps too. The lodge is a little out of town but so quiet away from the noise of Habarana, we were so happy there.

The pool is fantastic, in such a beautiful setting surrounded by wildlife. The gardens are more mature than the photos and are really beautiful. We only stayed one night but I would’ve liked to have stayed longer for this! The lodges are cool and the rooms are very spacious. We loved the coconut shades restaurant which had authentic food and the cappuccino cafe which is western but good if you’re feeling a bit homesick!

The lodges are spacious and spotless, with comfy beds and crisp linens. large picture windows and a wooden veranda with a view of the bats flying home to roost at sunset. The setting is quite magical, with peacocks, monkeys, iguanas and mongooses inhabiting the grounds. There is a large and well maintained pool which is very welcome. The Sri Lankan breakfast is very tasty and a short walk away Wilhara restaurant serves great food. Great location from which to visit Lion Rock Sigiriya

The family is awesome and so kind. We also had our most tasty rice and curry cooked by the mother. If you want to see elephants, they have their own jeep for safari tour (fair price and possibility to get to remote area). Due to an emergency, they helped me to find a ride to Colombo in 30min and took care of my friend during her stay. Thank you again for everything ❤️

It was a pleasure staying at Sigiri Lion Lodge! The location is great: central, but hidden from the main road and very close to Lion's Rock. Our host Ajith received us with a warm welcome and helped us organize a safari and transport to our next stop. We really enjoyed the breakfast served on a balcony overlooking the patio.
