Set 33 km from Cerro de la Muerte, Cedrela Eco-Lodge & Restaurante offers accommodation with a garden, a terrace and room service for your convenience. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. This was our last stop of a 3-week round trip and a great stop it was. Temperatures are cool at night, chalets are cosy and the showers are warm in the morning (not a given in Costa Rica). The restaurant is exceptional combined with great wines. Great value for money! Including the restaurant.

The central bird watching balcony was great and comfortable with beautiful views of birds and river. Very caring and friendly team of workers. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. We had a really nice time at Mirador de Quetzales. The cabins are so cute & cozy and there is so much birdlife all around the property (we would see hummingbirds from our bed). It's a beautiful place to relax for a while and just enjoy the views, birds and bees all around. They easily organised tours and the food was great (we are vegan and they made some meals off menu for us and all were fantastic).

The place also has terraces to enjoy the views of Los Quetzales National Park. Hotel Suria is in a great location, near the river. It has a beautiful dining room and gardens, nice rooms, and friendly, gracious staff. We traveled from SJO in a private van to the valley with Adobe Tours, March 2023, for $182 US. I recommend you do the country a favor and not drive the mountains yourself, as roads are rough and CR has a wonderful system of shuttles and drivers.
