The staff were really helpful when it came to getting taxis around, but a lot easier here to have a car.

The lodge is 39 km from Laguna del Hule. LOVED this place. hosts are super attentive. place was exactly as described. lovely view down over the valley and the river which is AMAZING to cool off in and provided hours of entertainment for the kids. fantastic front porch area, fully functional kitchen. and TAKE THE TOUR as it's a really fascinating insight into vanilla production from the (or one of the) first producers in Costa Rica (i had kids duty and missed out on some of the details)

Tirimbina Rainforest Lodge offers free breakfast and a buffet at its restaurant. This is an amazing place. We booked last minute so missed out on the evening Bat Tour. If you go be sure to book this in advance. Otherwise you don't need a tour. The place is amazing with all of the wildlife - actually not on the trails but close to the rooms. The trails are lots of fun and the hanging bridges espescially.
