Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, free BBQ facilities and a free airport shuttle, Saltbush Retreat is a 3 minutes’ drive from Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum. Absolutely wonderful stay at Saltbush. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly man (his name escapes me) who gave us a great recommendation for a butcher so we could get some steaks for dinner. The entire place is cozy and rustic. We didn’t use the baths but they looked so cool! Rooms were spacious, our cabin looked out onto some grass with kangaroos grazing, which was a delight for our 9 month old. It had everything we needed, including wine glasses, I only wish we’d bought a bottle from them! Highly recommend, we had a lovely little stay :)

Friendly owner also greeted us when we arrived and provided helpful tips of things to do and see around the area. The 30-40 kangaroos that live in the area are also a real treat to see if you aren't from Australia. Always a few around the house or neighbors at any time.

Located in Cannonvale, 9.8 km from Airlie Beach, this property offers a unique wildlife experience in a tranquil Australian bush setting. Absolutely loved the cabin. We have been travelling for nearly 3 months and this was the nicest place we have stayed. The hosts have thought of everything and clearly went above and beyond. There was , prosecco in the fridge, a really helpful guide written out and just generally a beautiful place to stay amongst nature.
