EVERYTHING! The location, the main house and the lodges were superb! The 180 view over the mountains and waterhole from our terrace where we saw the wild animals drink throughout the day was just MAGICAL! The staff and their service was welcoming, pro active and incredibly kind! The chefs prepared Michelin star quality meals accompanied with an excellent wine assortment. The rangers and guide are very knowledgeable and experienced, not a question they didn’t know the answer to! The atmosphere is calm and serene, positive vibes only! Everything you need was offered or available and so well thought out! Good and comfortable beds and excellent housekeeping twice a day. 10 out of 10 and highly recommended!! Totally worth the amount!

Unpretentious, private, a real pleasure to be there. The staff were helpful, professional and friendly, our Ranger Ryan was excellent and we saw an unexpectedly large amount of game.

The lodge is beautiful and very well equipped with everything you need as for example a fan for cooling and a heater and extra blankets. The lodge is equipped with a double bed, a working desk, a wardrobe, a kitchen and a bathroom. We especially liked the incredible view from the terrace. Ingrid was an amazing host, she was very caring and helpful. She booked great tours in the reserves around the area for us.

Stayed for 4 nights, we had the best of time and highlight of South Africa. Rob was our guide and is an absolute legend, so knowledgeable and a great guy. Staff overall were super. We stayed for 4 nights which gave us bunch of great sightings. Sightings can really differ between days. Vegan food was great.

Amazing stay at an intimate game reserve, we could not fault this place. The size of the lodge meant we got excellent dedicated service - Bulela the guide is extremely knowledgeable and the drives were 10/10. Thando and Kesa on front of house are so friendly and the food was great. The property is newly renovated and the finishing touches / attention to detail complete the whole experience. We will be back!

The setting and the facilities were excellent. We used the Spa which perfectly complemented the Lodge. The rooms were spotlessly clean as were the rest of the facilities.

Long Lee Manor makes you feel like you’re in a movie. Stunning colonial architecture with a breathtaking backdrop of the reserve. Coffee/tea, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, always with animals in sight. First time in Africa, first time doing a Safari. We’re in love! All thanks to Shamwari, and the staff and guides at Long Lee Manor!

Small scale (4 individual bungalows) stylish accommodation in a private setting. The limited number of guests make it very enjoyable. Great ranger and nice team working at the main lodge.

The shearers lodge room we stayed in seemed ready for some TLC to be honest . Light not working in the coffee area . I am all for Shabby Chic but seemed just a bit too shabby . Loved the main house and dining area . Food was good and game drives were great .

We planned going to the Amakhala Woodbury Lodge on next day. We decided to stay at Leeuwenbosch for one night as it was 5 minutes to drive to Woodbury Lodge. We were very impressive with Leeuwenbosch because it was so beautiful and enjoyed our one night staying at Leeuwenbosch - everything were met our needs. We are highly recommendation to anyone must go there! Staff is so friendly and warm host to our check in. We would love to come back here again in the future. Luke & Jackie from Bury, England

I loved the setting. The main house is stunning but I loved Shearer’s Lodge because it was set further back and my room was spacious and appealing. The gardens and vegetation are fabulous especially when you find a beautiful zebra munching away at the grass on your front lawn. I also loved the set up - the game drives and meals were all organised and as I was travelling alone, it made me feel comfortable and at ease.

The location was perfect and the safari in the Amakhala reserve was amazing. The landscape was magic and we have memories that will stay forever. The lodge was also very confortable, and charming. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Similar to what you will get in a fancy restaurant.

2nd time we’ve stayed there and just as good as the first. This is a great and far more cost effective way of safariing in Amkala Nature Reserve. The house and lodge are furnished in an old Dutch farm style which is lovel and the gardens/ pool make it unique in the area. Far cheaper than the lodges in the park and only across the road so the safaris are exactly the same!

Super game drives with Mel a insightful guide. Great game spotting. Ample and delicious catering. Extremely sad to leave.
