Location was great. Just a few blocks from the craziness of Bourbon St. Also beside green street car to Garden district and Hop on Hop off bus. What made the holiday were the staff. From check in, we were warmly welcomed and that hospitality lasted throughout our stay. Every one of thier staff members would bend over backwards to accommodate you or just say hello when passing. It was truly exceptional. From Patrick at breakfast to Renaldo at reception, they always had time for us. I have stayed in top 5 star hotels that have not managed that level of hospitality. The drinks and evening snacks where of a very high standard, as was the breakfast. We were on a 3 week tour of different US States and staying in 6 different hotels, this was by far our favourite.

The location was perfect to access the whole of the french quarter on foot! You could easily go further on the street cars if you wanted to. The room was large and had everything we required. Outside was a wonderful courtyard, a pool and jacuzzi that were great. The cleaning staff were amazing 🤩

The location could not be improved upon. The hotel's courtyard was an ideal place to sit and read the morning paper with a cup of coffee. Everyone who worked at the hotel was super friendly and the helpful, especially Andrew and Patrice.

    Totally over-rated.

Totally over-rated. If you enjoy the combined unique odor of urine, marijuana, and vomit all rolled into one, then Bourbon Street is for you. But it's not for us. Save your money and spend it elsewhere. And New Orleans in general, is expensive and way over-rated.

Don't go if you don't like music so loud it makes your ears bleed, waiters trying to up both their tip and the bill, the stench of cannabis, beggars and con artists asking where you got your shoes from and drunks acting as if they had just had their first drink.Which it probably was.

Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras is an absolute spectacle—superb energy, non-stop music, and a wild, unforgettable atmosphere! I managed to collect a mountain of beads, and let’s just say, I was treated to a few flashes of some truly impressive lingerie from some gorgeous ladies. The whole experience is a hilarious, over-the-top party that you really have to see to believe. If you’re looking for fun, a little bit of cheekiness, and stories you maybe shouldn’t tell your grandma, this is the place to be!

Bourbon Street is for sure an interesting place, and it is also extremely crowded and noisy. I am not sure how anybody can keep up a normal conversation while walking down the street. There are basically all types of music played, maybe 4 or 5, individuals or group, on both sides of a the same sidewalk. Also just about everybody warns tourists of unsafe the street is as soon as the sun is down--which in winter means past 5PM. We did not experience , nor did we see/witness any criminal activity, though. Police is there too, watching, on street corners.

Whatever you do, if you decide to bring children to NOLA, especially children that are still in strollers, do not take a child's stroller to Bourbon street, especially at night. I wouldn't say it's dangerous, but rather really not appropriate for kids to be on Bourbon street and there is often very loud music playing from the bars and street performers that might be tough on little ears. Plus, there are usually some people that are very intoxicated walking around and do you want that around your child(ren)?

The location is fantastic for those who want to spend their time around the French Quarter - it is located in a quiet street, but both Bourbon Street and Frenchmen Street, as well as the Jackson Square tourist areas are within walking distance. The hotel is also pretty charming, and the staff is extremely friendly and not intrusive.

Hotel is in a great location. Walkable to everything in the French Quarter but also close to the highway to get out easy. Our room in Hermann house was very comfortable and a good aircon which was needed in August. More importantly it was quiet! It’s only a street over from Bourbon Street so it was nice to retreat there and not be able to hear any of that noise.

Beautiful and climatic hotel. The room was big. It was actually a whole apartment. Very clean and spacious. The staff was very nice and helpful. Parking was available at the befriended hotel, kinda expensive but for two nights, it was alright (around 74 dollars?). The hotel was very close to Bourbon street. Highly recommend it.

What guests said about Bourbon Street:

  • If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough.

If you are looking to avoid crowds, its tough. Find restaurants off the beaten track and at different times than are typical eating times. Avoid Bourbon street at night on the weekend, more of a crowd drinking scene anyway so if crowds aren't your thing, not really where you should be looking. The fact is that it is a popular place so it is tough to miss people, but strike out on your own and explore and there are some great things to see.
