Amazing location. Stone’s throw from all the major tourist attractions. Small boutique hotel with very well appointed rooms and amenities. Service was amazing as was the breakfast. One of our bags was lost and the staff bent over backwards to get it retrieved for us

Hagia Sophia

In 537 AD, Hagia Sophia began life as a church, before becoming an Ottoman mosque in 1453. The largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, this majestic building is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Today, you can explore its vast structure from the inside with a visit to the museum that’s now housed within the walls.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul. Again ensure proper attire or you have to pay for covering. The interplay of Christianity and the Muslim faith, and neither chose to desicrate the other. Just be aware that you will only be able to visit the upper section unless you're a practising muslim.

Its a pity that such an UNESCO monument was turned into a Muslim Cami. And it is discrimination that all non Muslims cannot visit the whole area. As a Greek and orthodox I felt very sorry of the destructions of all the inside ( almost). This should be a museum open for all ,independent on their beliefs. Civilization is not looking into beliefs. Should be respected within centuries.

    Oh, what a delight.

Oh, what a delight. I’m an open minded Christian so I appreciate such a wonderful and special place is still in place. You have to admitted if it wasn’t the Muslims it (probably) shared the fate of Acropolis. Is a wonder it does not crumble during times. Really. I was not able to take two straight pictures in a row, such a marvel of architecture is it, patch after patch. Is not the Pantheon, is not Basilica di San Pietro, but is still there. I also have to appreciate they respect the history and prior faith and do not cover part of the old (Christinas) paintings.

The history is stunning and the main room is beautiful as well as the mosaics. However, I was underwhelmed considering they now charge to go in and you cannot go on the main floor (a result of it being turned into a mosque). Also the carpet choice doesn't help with the overall site. I think the other mosques were better. Also, there are LONG queues to buy a ticket and then queues to go in. I would recommend going to the Hagia Sophia experience museum (across the Obelisk) and buy tickets there.

Insanely long lines deterred us, although you can take great shot elsewhere. Whether you are a man or woman, you need to cover up. Ladies with shawl, long sleeves, and down to ankles. Men with pants and at least a t-shirt (no tank tops). Otherwise, no entry.

Highly recommended Hotel in Sultanahmet area. Excellent value for money, awesome location - few minutes walk away to popular attractions (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace etc), near to the tram line, near to popular restaurants in Sultanahmet area. This is also a very generous hotel in terms of variety of their breakfast. I was surprised of the selection and quality/taste, good job guys. Thanks Florina Hotel for making our time in Istanbul a comfy and memorable one.

They help you with tips, recommendations, water and coffee supply. I highly recommend the place if you are visiting Istanbul. Flexible check in and check out which is a good fit for the flight schedules.

The hotel is so beautifully decorated and designed, it was great to be able to use the spa to swim. The location is great especially if you want to visit Hagia Sophia and the blue mosque. It was also in walking distance of the tram and local ferries. The hotel staff were amazing and helpful. We travelled with our four month old and were extremely helpful and friendly. They took extra care to make it comfortable for the baby and gave us a cot in our room.

Wasn’t expecting to leave on that side of Istanbul, but we ended up really liking it. The hotel is within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Beyazid Mosque. The Grand Bazaar and metro line are just a 5-minute walk away. We also discovered plenty of local amenities nearby, from street food vendors to traditional goods shops. The hotel staff were especially helpful in arranging day tours, which we thoroughly enjoyed as a couple.

Blue Mosque & Hagia Sofia are both jaw droppingly stunning inside. Avoid the huge tour group queues & go straight to the top of the line, else you'll wait for hours. I was in (in both places), in 10 minutes without being pushy.
