Our 3 days/2 nights in Il Frangipane have been amazing! The facility is a little tropical paradise, well maintained and well designed: perfect for some relaxing days. The room is really big, clean and with modern furniture, as the bathroom. The breakfast is big, a good mix between English and srilankan breakfast. Their best strength is the always kind and helpful staff! They’ll always help you with a big smile! Thank you for those amazing days!

Royal Rock is a quiet, peaceful haven handy for Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. The food is excellent, service attentive but not intrusive and the ambience is most relaxing. The rooms all have a view of a lion rock and paddy filed which is home to varieties of birdlife. There is a comfortable pool to cool off in and rooms are cozy.

Great place to stay! Perfectly located in the heart of Sigiriya and surrounded by nature. I stayed here from the 2nd to the 4th of July in a room with two double beds, a private bathroom, and a spacious garden outside. The property is immersed in greenery, so you’ll often spot wildlife such as lizards, squirrels, peacocks, birds and the owner’s friendly dog. It’s a truly peaceful setting. The owners are a lovely family with three young children, along with their grandparents who help around the property with the lovely dog. They were honestly the highlight of my stay such kind, welcoming people who made me feel at home. Their smiles and positive energy were unforgettable. I also had the pleasure of eating most of my meals here. The food is homemade, delicious, and full of flavour cooked by Chandikasamapath, i think this is how it is written! Such lovely person! She taught me some Sinhala words too! I’ve travelled across Sri Lanka, and this place with it is the best with it warm-hearted hosts who have been the highlight of this place! To the owners: please keep being who you are, kind, smiley, offering good vibes and helping into guiding people around the city and the country! You are the difference! Oyāṭa sthūthiyi!

The staff went all out to make sure my stay was very comfortable. They were great at helping out if we had any issues with transport and even came to fetch us at night when we lost our way. Simply loved the serene environment. A very safe place, so close to the Sigiriya rock. In fact, we would have loved to extend our stay but our schedule was not permitting.

Good hike with great all round views from the top.

Good hike with great all round views from the top. Wear comfortable footwear, light breathable clothes as this is a decent hike. Carry water to stay hydrated. Couple of portions are quite windy, enjoy the breeze after the hike. SAARC members, remember to carry your passports for some discount on entrance fee.

Leave accommodation before breakfast to beat the crowds and busloads of visitors. You will have a safer and timelier climb to the top and down again. You can eat after. It was beautiful to see the sunrise and to climb before it got too hot. Make sure to visit the grounds and not just climb and leave.

Watching the sunset from Sigiriya was truly unforgettable. As the sun dipped low behind the distant hills, the entire landscape transformed into a canvas of gold, orange, and soft pinks. The ancient rock fortress, already majestic by day, took on a mystical glow during golden hour.

Great climb and quite fun views from the top.

Great climb and quite fun views from the top. Keep three hours on hand as I recommend people to climb slowly with lot of breaks and keep some time to rest, recuperarte and absorb the views from the top.

Fabulous trip to see Sigiriya - we booked our own tuk tuk.

Fabulous trip to see Sigiriya - we booked our own tuk tuk. Be aware that you probably wont 'finish' at the same car park where you start - you are funnelled past the gift shops to a different car park so we had to find our way back to our driver. Also considering that most of the dogs we saw in SL were well fed by locals we saw too many v thin dogs here, which was horrid considering the cost of the ticket... Make sure you go early if possible- large crowds when we were coming out at 8:30am so would have made for a v v slow ascent. If you go early it is lovely and quiet.

My friend and I stayed here 1 night, after a long night of travelling we had a warm greeting. The location was great for climbing Sigiriya rock. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the hotel manager was so friendly! There was a bit of noise from a restaurant close by however it did not disturb our sleep and it didn't go on too late.

An amazing small-run hotel in Sigiriya with outstanding hospitality. The staff went above and beyond — from the restaurant team to reception and the all-rounders. The food was delicious, and they happily refilled anything we wanted at no extra cost. Our room was spacious with all the amenities and a lovely patio. The large pool offered stunning views of Sigiriya Rock, and they organised all our trips and transport with ease.

I had a wonderful stay at Water Garden Sigiriya. The traditional Sri Lankan meals were absolutely delicious and gave me a true taste of the local culture. The service from the hotel staff was attentive and professional, making me feel very welcome throughout my stay. The swimming pool was simply perfect for relaxing, and the view of Sigiriya Rock from the property was breathtaking. It created a serene and unforgettable atmosphere. This hotel is very close to Sigiriya Rock. While it's recommended to take a tuk-tuk during dark hours to avoid encounters with wild elephants, you can walk to Sigiriya Rock during daylight.

Very nice view of the Sigiriya Rock and spacious balcony + working area. It is very interesting to find a Japanese run hotel along the village of Sigiriya. Welcome drink is served, as well very abundant breakfast. The room is very spacious too with outdoor balcony. Love the Japanese toilet :) location near to Pidurangala Rock, best sunset view in Sri Lanka

Roo Mansala is the best hotel we visited in Sri Lanka. We had a villa on the upper floor overlooking the Pidurangala and Sigiriya rocks. The pool is lovely and they also have an upper observation deck where you can see the nearby lake and beautiful birds. The food is delicious and the staff are all very helpful and caring. They even organised our last dinner on the upper deck which was a real treat. Highly recommended!

Travelling as a Family with 3 Kids (5 years, 3 years and 8 months) the hotel was great. Location is just 10 minutes Drive to Sigiriya rock. The room (Deluxe Family room) was realy big, clean and had everything we needed. Staff asks you when you want to have room Service. The Pools were great for the Kids. The breakfast and Dinner buffet where ok, a mixture of Sri Lankan and touristic, Western style. The staff was very nice. Wi-Fi did not work well in the room. All over a nice hotel.
