The property is beautifully designed and executed. It is a modern structure that has a lot of traditional Japanese elements, that makes it blend well in the surrounding areas of the old town Takayama. I absolutely enjoyed staying here, if I knew how good this hotel would have been earlier, I would have planned to stay longer. The spa is very neat and relaxing. They do allow people with tattoos, unlike many other Onsens and public baths in Japan. The staff here are all very kind and attentive and they went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The location was also perfect! Just about a 12 minute walk from the train station, and many bars and restaurants around under 5-10 minute walk away. The preserved old town is just 2 minutes away, and is on the parallel street.

Great location. Near to the station and places of interest. Staff is knowledgeable and communicate well in English, with an international line up of front desk staff. Spacious room and I like the wood craft and furniture mix. Not least, adjacent to one of the best hida beef restaurant in Takayama.

Takayama Old Town

Takayama flourished as a wealthy trading town during the Edo Period, and today its Old Town is one of Japan’s best-preserved. Its cobbled lanes are lined with 17th-century houses, shrines and sake breweries, which open their doors to anyone keen for a taste of local life from bygone days.
