AustraliaNice clean, relatively new room. Reception staff member was very helpful and handled the language barrier with ease. Good facilities like microwave and ice machine easy to find in the lobby. Great value and also included breakfast (can’t say what it was like because we missed it to catch our train).

Being a vegan is difficult in Japan so this breakfast was a great start to my day. The hotel is just across the road from the station and an easy walk to Hikone Castle. The room was big by Japanese standards with a big window and a nice view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's also a good laundromat on the property. The owner of the hostel, Mr. Noguchi, was very friendly and helpful and spoke perfect english - even lending me his bike to visit Hikone castle. The family running the Ryokan was very very friendly and accommodating to me. Everything has been explained to me, but I also speak Japanese so mileage may vary. The bath was very nice and Japanese style. Everything I needed like Toothbrushes, shampoo was available.
