Excellent location, perfect for Vatican and other major sites to see in Rome. This may sound trivial, but, they had water bottle filling stations on each floor. Its hard to find free water filling stations in Rome or Italy. Kudos for thinking of the little things which go along way.

Vatican Museums

The Vatican Museums are undoubtedly a must-visit. You’ll find these hallowed halls housed in the holy Vatican City. Perhaps that’s why the works here are of such a godly nature – expect true masterpieces (Ever heard of the Sistine Chapel?) and a beauty so supreme it can’t even be tainted by the crowds of trampling tourists.

So much, we took the guided tour, yes very informative, but skimmed so much to fit within the time allowed, massive crowds, next time maybe we will just get entry to take the experience slower. but worth the visit whichever way it is done I am sure.

Expensive, and even more expensive if you take a tour and avoid the endless lines for tickets. Some of the world's greatest painting masterpieces are here. No bare shoulders or hemlines above the knees are allowed.

Probably important to preface this with: I'm not an art person. But I thought we couldn't miss the masterpieces contained here. Turns out, we could have. We went during closing hours for "fewer crowds" but still the sistine chapel was an unpleasant experience. They really try to shove as many people as possible into the place and I was having none of it. Once you go through to the other side of the partition it's much more enjoyable as they won't be barking at you to shove in shove in. It was just not worth it for us, even with a guided tour so we knew what we were seeing.

I visited the Vatican Museum here, not the Vatican itself.

I visited the Vatican Museum here, not the Vatican itself. The Museum has much incredible art, and I booked a walking tour. By the end of the tour (two hours later), I was understandably tired. Most of what I can remember consists of dusty, half-lit rooms, which didn't help. I was glad to get some fresh air. Be aware that, being close to the Vatican and the Piazza S. Pietro, this neighbourhood is a magnet for junk sellers and scammers. Be extra careful here. The police will do nothing about them.

I've been several times before, but my husband had not, so we booked a group guided tour with Viator. I can say that the Catholic Church has RUINED the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel with their greed by shoving 25,000-45,000 people per DAY through there with very little time to see anything!! It was NEVER like this before and I'm appalled that it's become so disgustingly greedy to do this! Our tour started at 2:45 and it was SO crowded and SO rushed that we literally had 3 minutes in the Sistine Chapel, which is at the end of the tour, before the nasty guards literally turned all of the lights off and shoved us out the door!!! Can't miss your 5 pm espresso apparently!!! We were literally crowded shoulder to shoulder with others throughout a great deal of the museum and the chapel!!!

Book skip the line or a tour of the museums, Sistine Chapel and Basillica as one tour, if you book sistene chapel and basillica as a tour you do not have to wait in the huge security line for the Basillica (although it is free if you choose the latter) .

The property is in a fantastic location. It is right next to the Vatican museums and a 10 minute walk from St Peter’s. It is very clean and Ernesto & Paola are wonderful hosts. They couldn’t do enough for us and as well as collecting us from the airport they gave great recommendations for places to visit and places to eat.

Loved the location, 5 mins walk to the Vatican museums. Very clean apartment, had everything in it what we needed including a washing machine, dishwasher and an iron, and all detergents were provided. Air con in all the bedrooms and the living room worked great. Having a terrace was a huge bonus and a nice chilling place in the evening, also great to hang out the washing. :) Loved the entrance code system. No need to carry the keys. Great communication with the host, very accommodating and quick to respond. Thank you for our stay.

Excellent stay. Host was lovely and accommodating helped with directions and travel tips. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Great location only a 3 minute walk to the Vatican museums with lots of great restaurants and cafes. As it was my birthday while I was there they decorated the room and gave us bottle of prosecco for the room which was really nice . Would definitely recommend and would definitely come again. You cannot avoid the crowd. The best suggestion to visit Vatican museums and St Peter's is to take a guided tour. To visit the Colosseum, book your tickets in advance over the internet and skip the line. Other attractions are easy to visit.
