Hotel Desert is everything you can dream of in a guest house. Ajit and his staff are so welcoming and lovely, and go out of their way to make sure you have a great time and are not wanting for anything. Plus, the rooftop is just about the tallest in Jaisalmer, with great food, great prices, and breathtaking views. Ajit and his staff are the standouts though, you won't find more kind, fun and hilarious people - if you're coming to Jaisalmer, you have to stay at Hotel Desert in the Fort.

We were in the honeymoon suite & it was fantastic! A view from the bed, our own private balcony plus a sitting area that was almost just for us! Our group had the whole hotel & we could not have been looked after better. The breakfasts were fabulous- must try the plain cheese omelette!! And chai masala was brewed whenever requested. Devine

I will definitely come back there !! Stayed just one night and it’s way to short for such and amazing place!! I recommend spend there at least 3-4 days to fully experience this space. I’m Fort Villa you will find a peaceful corner to rest and recharge batteries. As a solo woman traveller in India I can really recommend it. All the stuff is very polite they will always help, but if you need time alone they respect your space and privacy. I am amazed how this place represent hospitality on the highest level and the building is just magnificent!! Oh and you don’t need to worry about cooking because meals they provide are truly delicious authentic Indian cuisine.(They make it fresh everyday) I wish I could spend more time there! Even watching desert sunset from the big balcony they have is like free tourists attraction:) it’s also great yoga and meditation spot:) Highly recommend!

    It is worth a journey to see this Fort, inside of which...

    It is worth a journey to see this Fort, inside of which there is still a thriving city. Jaisalmer is remote, on the far western edge of the Thar desert, but its remoteness adds a wonderful mystique to the place. An overnight stay is a must. This might be my favorite destination in India!

    Perched on top of an elevated flat land inside the city lies...

    Perched on top of an elevated flat land inside the city lies the golden palace. The palace has families settled here for generations , comprising of beautifully carved Jain & Hindu temples, restaurants overlooking the city of Jaisalmer & shops selling local artifacts. You can walk up the fort or take an auto rickshaw to the Dussehra square. The city gets its golden glow by the locally sourced stones, beautifully carved.

The amenities available in the hostel were amazing. when we compare to other hostel in the Jaisalmer We can’t have any hostel for such an astonishing sunrise and sunset view along with the Jaisalmer fort. Their is a man named “Kasam khan” which help me to visit all the spots in Jaisalmer.He have good heart to help others also,feels like my brother. He also arranged some desert experience in THAR desert with camel riding,desert safari,cultural programs,Sleeping under the stars….

    Open road hostel is an excellent choice when in Jaisalmer. The hosts are very warm and welcoming, and they ensured excellent hospitality throughout my stay here. They also arranged an overnight desert safari which was the highlight of the trip. It is also at walkable distance to Jaisalmer fort and other attractions. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Jaisalmer.

    I stayed in the dorm room at Little Jaisal Haveli and had an amazing experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the highlight was the rooftop – it offers the best view of Jaisalmer Fort, especially at night. All major tourist attractions are just a short walk from the hotel, which made exploring the city very easy. The staff was helpful, and the location felt safe. Highly recommended for solo travelers and backpackers!
