United StatesLa Roca Negra is like staying in paradise! The wildlife is amazing, particularly the birds. I saw dozens of species, just walking around, including many humming birds, tanegers, and a white hawk. I also spotted a family of agouti. When the weather clears there is also a view of the volcano.

FranceWe really enjoyed our stay at San Bosco Inn. Not only did they have a swimming pool but we were able to use the hot springs at their sister hotel, Volcano Lodge. Fabulous breakfast. Lots of birds & butterflies attracted to the gardens :)

SloveniaExtremely helpful and kind staff, beautiful surroundings with vegetation, view directly of the Arenal Vulcano. Breakfast with all possible food (delicious fruit). The room and everything around it is 100% clean, neat and quiet. Nothing less than 10 is appropriate rate for everything here.

The falls are amazing!
The falls are amazing! The 500 steps down are well maintained. It had rained hard the night before and was raining while we were there so we weren’t allowed to swim at the bottom. I went there early morning, meaning I was one of the first one. You have to be physically fit to climb the stairs, it is very humid and with in the rain season wear sturdy shoes. The butterfly and orchid garden was very disappointing, 2 butterflies and no orchid. That was not my main point to visit. Go early!
Go early! We went one lunch time and the queue was huge, decided to go back another day for when it opened at 7am and we were one of the only ones there. Spotlessly clean, stunning bungalows, a kind and helpful owner, and a wonderful location just a short distance from the town center. You can see hummingbirds and other animals right in front of the bungalow – simply breathtaking! I can also highly recommend the Choco Tour, which is located right next to the accommodation.
