We had a pleasant boat trip from Sydney harbour over to Manly Beach, It was well worth the visit. Beautiful sands and a nice place to go for a drink/meal/walk around the shops. Much nicer than Bondi in our opinion.

Very nice flat, rather spacious, perfect for a family of 4. The sofa bed in the living room was comfortable. All you need in the kitchen during a city break. Located 5 minutes by foot from the Manly Wharf, it's very convenient to get to Circular Quay and explore the city center (and see the Opera House and Harbour bridge day and night!) and it's also next to Manly beach if you have time for a different, more local vibe.

There are numerous beaches to choose from. Some are for surfing, some for swimming and other water sports. Manly beach is particularly good with all activities catered for and lots of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from plus plenty of shops.

If you want to go to Manly Beach in the summer, get the 9 am ferry - if a cruise ship is in, the later ferries are full and you might have to wait. They come every 20 minutes after 10, but you still would have to wait.
