Ai has great knowledge of the area when it comes to eating and good advice on mountains to ski for the current conditions. A great place to meet people if adventuring alone, private onsens, shuttles to the mountains and great breakfasts are all part of the package.I know how hard it is to sort through all the accomodation options in myoko, trust me and stay with Ai for your trip.
