This was an absolutely fantastic experience! This hotel room was the best we’ve stayed in throughout our entire trip to Japan. Don’t be put off by the hotel’s location—there are bus routes just a 3-minute walk away, and an excellent onsen (one of the best in Hakone) is only a 10-minute walk from the property. The hotel building itself is quite old, but the room has a very fresh, modern, and authentic renovation, which we really loved. As for the room itself, it’s incredibly cozy—warm, with perfectly functioning air conditioning, all the necessary kitchen and bathroom amenities, and even a drink bar. The owner has clearly put a lot of effort into maintaining the room’s cleanliness and upkeep—no stray hairs on the floor, no dust, stains, or musty smells. Everything was spotless and comfortable. We also loved the traditional Japanese touches in the room—swords on display (I think they were a katana and a tanto, though I’m no expert) and beautiful traditional women’s garments like yukatas and uchikake, which you can wear for a photoshoot. There’s even a QR code linking to a video on how to properly put them on. The room also offers a stunning view of the mountainside and cherry blossoms—the scenery from the window is absolutely breathtaking, and my wife was completely delighted. The bedding was fresh, warm, and comfortable, and the mattresses were great too. The owner himself is very friendly, responds quickly, and is always ready to help if anything comes up. I highly recommend choosing this room if you’re planning a trip to Hakone and want to enjoy the onsen!

4ppl stayed with 2 kids 11, 14. The beds were just right, pillows perfect, lots of space, indoor + outdoor onsen, pool + pool toys, 2 bathrooms, very clean. Excellent cooking facilities. Highly recommended 👌 steep 18min walk to get here, but worth it. Very tranquil. Very comfortable. Can't rate it high enough.

We love the location with the bus stop right outside of the apartment block. Colm was a fantastic host who provided excellent communication and so many good recommendations and tips. We LOVE the onsen on the building as it was lovely to start and end the day with onsen and massage chair experience without having to leave the building. Importantly, the apartment was spacious, clean and makes you feel right at home. My family love hanging out in the balcony that has such a beautiful green bamboo coverage and the view of the mountain. We would be happy to stay here again!

The room and communal areas were pristine, and the kitchen had everything required to produce an excellent meal, if required. The room was unusually large for Japan with 2 large comfortable beds, a large storage space for clothes and luggage, and a chest of drawers. The shared bathroom, shower and separate toilet were excellent and very clean. The owner lives on site and was always available for information, help, etc. Thank you.
