Beyond expectation! A lovely and large traditional yet modernised family home, and in a great location for exploring the delights of Lake Ashi... with peerless Mount Fuji views just a few metres away!! The property could easily accommodate a family or small group and is great value, therefore. Don't hesitate with this one, as you won't be disappointed! The only downside is that the local eateries when we visited (early April) close relatively early, though you can stock the fridge etc and you have all the implements you need to cook and eat. Oh yes, I nearly forgot the natural and private hot spring bath - a great bonus!!! A very comfortable and relaxing stay in a quiet and small residential area with a helpful and thoughtful owner.

Very lucky find: this lovely villa is located in nature, overlooking Lake Ashi, a 10 minute walk down to Moto Hakone promenade with restaurants, shops etc. The home itself is luxurious, with an awesome sauna & hot tub and a large living area with terrace, boasting views of Fuji. We reached it very easily & the host was super helpful to recommend transport, taxi etc. We had a very relaxing time, particularly starting the day with coffee & a view! Everything was spotless and designed to ensure a very comfortable stay. Nearby attractions include the floating Torii, a rope way & lake cruises.

This house is renovated with great hospitality in mind. It is a blend of new and old. What I love is the thought behind the property and the host. The bathroom is top notched, the care taken on details: hand towels and amenities (shower cap, toothbrushes, cotton pads). The heating is good (although we didn’t need it), there is a washing machine for long stays and the full kitchen (complete with a rice cooker) makes it a home away from home. It is great for longer stays and the beds are comfortable to render a good night’s rest. I have to say, the blanket covers and bed sheets are well laundered (and it makes a great difference)! This means the housekeeping is top notched! It is close to lots of eateries and the lake. The carpark is great for families traveling with a rental car.

This cabin was incredible. It exceeded all our expectations. Nestled in the mountains with a stunning view of Mt Fuji, staying here was the highlight of our trip to Japan and we will definitely be back. The house is clean, comfortable, and has a unique character. It was very easy to sleep on the thick foam futons. Cooking was easy, and the piano and massage chair rounded it out as a perfect place to stay!

The stay was simply perfect. The house was spotless and much more spacious than the pictures suggest. You can feel the love in every detail of the interior,it doesn’t feel like a "hotel" at all, but like a real home, fully equipped for a comfortable stay over several days. The location is also brilliant. I already had high expectations based on the photos, but they were clearly exceeded. No doubt: if I ever come back to Japan, I’ll rent this house again,for that price, absolutely.

Amazing and luxurious hotel. Spread over a large area with a large lobby and seating area. Huge rooms decorated in a traditional and modern style. The hot Onsen bath on the balcony is great fun especially on snowy nights like the one we spent. Excellent breakfast - a large selection with dishes from Japanese and Western cuisine. Great staff that provides professional, friendly and pleasant service.
