Very friendly staff - always willing to help
The location was superb - the hotel is on an island in a lake surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was quiet and relaxing. For a Georgian hotel the plumbing was good and the shower reliable!! Excellent fish and chips in the cafe.
The hotel's history is interesting: first known nature reserve (albeit created from sugar plantation wealth) owned by the inventor of the bird box of with potential for further recognition as a heritage green space. Make more of the history as a selling point.

Since my last stay the hotel has Recently been upgraded and modernised. Superbly finished and improved. Introducing new facilities, hot tubs and a restaurant. The hotel is beautiful, rooms spacious and super clean, one of my favoutite places to stay, and the staff are outstanding.
