The location is beautiful and very convenient for the Whitworth Institute. I loved my cozy room, the comfy bed, the lovely, clean bathroom with the fantastic shower, the thoughtful coffee and tea amenities, the witty proprietor, Alan and his courteous, talented and considerate staff, the tasteful decor and the wonderful welcome. I'm so pleased I chose the Square and Compass and I'm greatly looking forward to my next stay. Very highly recommended!

Located in Castleton, 16 km from Buxton Opera House, Bulls Head, Castleton provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy and staff actually took us to our room. There are only 5 rooms and nobody was noisy. The pub has excellent food and many people who were eating at dogs which were all well behaved. The bathrooms are remodeled, and breakfast is brought to your room. Good parking behind the Bull's Head.

The people were just lovely and most helpful. The room clean and comfortable. We had light breakfasts but there was a variety and the cooked breakfasts looked good as well. The food in the pub was good, home cooked and again a variety to choose from. Would stay there again.

Amazing setting. Really good food. Great service, friendly but very professional. Really smart bar and restaurant. Great breakfast.

Located in Mellor and with Buxton Opera House reachable within 18 km, Pack Horse Inn - New Mills provides a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Lovely room and big super king bed, very comfy. Very welcoming and helpful waitress on arrival and for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and freshly cooked.

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated The White Hart Apartment Church View offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. We stayed here as a family whilst visiting Alton Towers. The room was clean and spacious and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing! Would highly recommend a visit and we would definitely stay again.

Around 12 miles from Sheffield, in the heart of the Peak District, The Plough Inn in Hathersage is a 16th-century inn in Derbyshire. It has a cosy bar and restaurant and offers free parking and Wi-Fi.... Charming place with kind and helpful staff. Spacious room is separated from the bar and the restaurant so there is no noise. Food for dinner was delicious and reasonably priced, and the breakfast was also fabulous. Spent just one night but would definitely come back again to explore Peak District.
