Best way to travel and enjoy neighbourhood is to take taxi boat (ticket included in price). Views from many places give you impression like beeing a part of swiss railway model (buildings, roads, rails, mountains and river). Definitely a place worth staying for longer, to take mountain trips (on foot or cycling).

The location is wonderful, probably unique, high on the valley side, in quiet forest. Many of the guests will be coming and going daily walking the Malerweg, but access to this amazing location is also possible by forest track and car. There’s the possibility of a wonderful breakfast overlooking the beautiful Saxon Switzerland landscape, before a day walking the trails. Very nice evening meals available upto 18.30, but there’s also very good inns and restaurants in the surrounding villages if you are out later. There is also a free pass that allows you to use local trains, buses and ferry’s to explore the area, which is a great idea and cuts down on people driving. We had a great time walking sections of the Malerweg using the passes to get to starting points and walking back to a lovely meal as the sunset and a comfortable bed with nothing but the sound of the wind in the trees to lull you to sleep!

A great place to stay in Baden Schandau. The room turned out to be larger than even exceeded our expectations, there was a place to work at the table, and the opportunity to talk at the tea table, and just sit on the couch. The room was clean, pleasant, warm, and well-ventilated if desired. I would also like to say that the bed was comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was strong and I didn't want to leave the room in bad weather.
