The Chinese name of the guesthouse is “來喜樓” (lai xi lou), meaning “to bring happiness and blessings” to the guests as well as the house. Its English name of “Lexis Inn” project a scholastic feeling as the guesthouse would not only provide accommodation to visitors, but also serve as a venue for cultural and academic exchanges.
The Inn hopes to provide its guests a unique experience of staying at a traditional house combined with arts, academic and spiritual exchange.

Lexis Inn is housed in the "Xue Yongnan and Brothers' Mansion" in Zhushan traditional settlement of the Kinmen National Park.
Built in 1928, the Xue Brothers' Mansion is a western-style residence and is an iconic architecture of the village as well as Kinmen. It is located on a high-rise land and is elevated with layers of stone slabs as steps and foundation. It is a “five-foot way” two-storey building with a porch about five footsteps wide on the ground floor, a living room and four rooms on either floor. The front of the house features western-style brick columns with arched doorways, creating a simple yet elegant façade. The balcony on second floor commands a panorama view of the entire village. In front of the main building are an enclosed stone and brick courtyard and a flat-roofed extension offering two rooms to be used as kitchen and guest room respectively, while at the back there is a watchtower that used to provide protection against bandits and enemies in the old days.

Located at the southwestern part of Kinmen Island, Zhushan was formed by the Xue family when they settled in Kinmen to escape unrest more than 600 years ago. The village is surrounded by great boulders and lush forests and is believed to enjoy great Fengshui, with a hill on one side that symbolises strong support, and a deep pond in the center that symbolises a converging point for wealth. The seven ponds around the village add to the advantage—the waters of prosperity will never run dry.
Residences in Zhushan are built around and facing the big pond, with the ancestral temple being the focal point. In addition to the Xue Brothers' Mansion, prominent houses include the “Xia San Luo”, “Dai Fu Di”, “Xue Yong Mai Mansion” and the “Xue Jian Fang Mansion”, What’s better than taking a stroll around the pond and the alleys while appreciating the traditional architecture and the wisdom of our forefathers and soaking in the tranquility of village life?
Zhushan is about 10 minutes away from the nearest town centre by car and is also close to attractions such as the Zhaishan Tunnel, the Han Ying Yun Gen Inscription, Ming Yi Old Street, Houhu Beach, Juguang Tower, Lake Ci etc.
