Just a few hundred meters from the ocean, in the most peaceful district of Dakar, but only 10 minutes from the Yoff airport and close to many shops, craftsmen, nightclubs and restaurants, you’ll find the six furnished studio flats and four furnished flats making up Kakatar family hotel and residence Kakatar has retained its authentic African feel while providing superior comfort. You’ll feel completely at home but really in Africa. Due to its large number of rooms and the spacious design of the place, Kakatar can cater to groups of up to 30 people whilst the meals can be taken privately in each suite or publicly with the other guests on our thatched rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city and the sea. Kakatar is near Yoff beach also known as plage BCEAO which has now turned into a safe and delightful hub for local food, dining, entertainment and surfing. It is also filled with stalls on the beach side and; about half a km down the beach is the fishing quay where the local traditional boats (pirogues) take to the sea and return to their port with all the fresh seafood one can dream of.

Our location in Yoff means you can stay away from the hustle and bustle of Dakar plateau but be 15mns away. We are a few hundred meters from the sea and the weather or climate is always tempered by the sea breeze. You can hear the sea 24/7 from any of the apartments or studios. We are 5mns from Ngor and the Almadies or Ouakam or the Corniche and near the highway and the VDN (one of the major thoroughfare leading to the Pink Lake). In fact, all the major conveniences of the modern world (banks, supermarket, local markets, bakeries, cafes, restaurant, laundromat etc, ...) are at walking distance. Every street corner also has a corner shop where most basic items can be purchased.
