There are numerous parking places around the house but you can easily park inside the gates, as there is plenty of space, all free of charge. There is a bus station 3 minutes away from the place. The bus will take you to villages around the area, and also to Campina, the closest city with a modern center, a train station and other bus connections to skiing areas. The DN1 national road is just 7 km away.
The village of Mislea was famous in the communist era for hosting a very strict women's prison, now transformed into a modern alms house. Bucharest, the intriguing capital of Romania is within 90 km of the location, while the best skiing areas in the country (Sinaia, Brasov, Predeal) can easily be reached in a little bit more than 30 minutes. Campina (10 km away) will welcome you with:
• The Nicolae Grigorescu Museum: known as "the father of Romanian painting", this icon painter absorbed Impressionism in Paris with Renoir and painted in the open air. His landscape works seem to amplify the Romanian countryside. From Nicolae Grigorescu's house in Câmpina, now transformed into a memorial museum, there is a fine view of the Prahova Valley.
• The Iulia Hasdeu Castle: built by Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu for his daughter, Iulia, after she passed away at the young age of 19. The architect of the building, according to B.P. Hasdeu, was Iulia herself, who after her death continued to communicate with her father. The museum is very well presented and preserved and is a wonderful place to stop as you're traveling from Bucharest to Prahova Valley or Transylvania. The audio guide in several languages is included.
