We are Stewart and Jane Whiteside, your hosts at Tipapa Estate. We have been fortunate to visit and stay in wonderful places around the world, and when we found the historic Tipapa homestead we knew it was a very special place deserving of our love and attention, and to be shared with others. Living on site with our dogs Ruby and Sapphire we also welcome dogs by arrangement. We look forward to hosting you in our peaceful and special home.

Tipapa Estate was originally part of a 10,000-acre sheep station, with The Woolshed being constructed from native timbers in 1890. The current and magnificent Tipapa homestead was completed in 1928. The historic homestead offers 4 large and luxurious bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms and beautiful views. Wake to the peace and tranquility before enjoying breakfast prepared by Jane & Stewart, your hosts. Wander around the extensive gardens or make the most of our swimming pool (summer only). Guests in our home have free access to the lounge and dining rooms, all with open fireplaces. Tipapa Estate is handily located for a range of fabulous activities. We are on the doorstep of the wonderful Waipara wine growing region home to more than 90 vineyards. Stunning Motunau Beach is just a few minutes away at the end of the road, where you can browse the rock pools for fossils or we can help arrange fishing or diving charters. We are just over an hour from the thermal pools at Hanmer Springs; 90 minutes from Kaikoura for whale and dolphin watching; and only 30 minutes from the surfing beach at Gore Bay.
