Our welcoming house is within walking distance of town and the wharf so you've got your pick of the great restaurants and shops Raglan has to offer. There are two large living areas both with their own fireplaces, and a heat pump if you are too relaxed to light them - a perfect winter escape! In summer you'll enjoy sitting in the large garden listening to the birds or watching the sun go down through the manuka tree. Kids will enjoy the games and toys here, parents will enjoy the peace!
SHOPPING
There are some awesome shops in town and on the Wharf. Also be sure to check out the local noticeboard to see if the Sunday market is on.
COFFEE and EATING
For take-out coffee I like Raglan Roast or the window at the Raglan Surf Shop.
There is delicious food everywhere. THE SHACK is great for breakfast or lunch. There's also yummy Mexican in Volcom Lane and AROHA SUSHI down near the harbour front. Near AROHA SUSHI you will find Raglans butcher. In the same strip is Raglan Herbal Dispensary for fresh bread, juices and deli goodies.
ULO and ISOBAR are my favourite restaurants for dinner and a cocktail. GEORGES is great for sundowners and casual dining. ORCA at the end of Bow St has a good restaurant and also a bar out the back where you can play some pool and have a beer out on the deck. The RAGLAN HARBOURVIEW HOTEL is good for old-school pub food and drinks.
On the way to the surf you will find more good pizza at RAGLAN WEST.
Down the end of Wallis St at The Wharf is Raglan's fantastic fish co op. Pop down there to buy your fresh fish or enjoy a great fish and chip feast looking over the gorgeous Whaingaroa harbour. Also at the wharf is The WHARF BAR for a nice cold afternoon beverage. The Wharf is also a top spot for fishing with the kids.
SURF and BEACHES
For the main beach and surf beaches, continue along Bankart Street and turn left at the roundabout to head along Wainui Rd. Wainui Reserve and Ngarunui beach is approximately 4km from town. It's a beautiful 6km walk along the beach and up the harbour back to town. Manu Bay and Whale Bay, the point breaks, are a further 3km on.
