Our yurt offers beautiful, unobstructed views of Karioi mountain and the Tasman coastline. A short 8 minute drive from Raglan, our setting is peaceful but close enough to the town's cool vibe and surf beaches for those that wish to have the best of both worlds. The yurt is intentionally off grid which means we run off solar and we do not offer wifi. The space is aimed at those who wish to disconnect and soak in the surroundings. We ask guests not to use high voltage appliances as this will drain the power (this is also specified in the Airbnb instructions on the premises) leaving them without access to water, lights, and toilet. There is a wood-burning stove which keeps it cosy in the winter months. We provide enough wood for the length of your stay during the months of May-Oct. If guests want more wood they can request more for a small additional fee. The yurt is a canvas structure and this means, like any canvas structure, you can see small traces of water staining in some parts of the lining, especially around the doorframes. This is absolutely normal and commensurate with the type of materials its made from and its age. We have a very high star rating from 95% of guests so please consider if you have issues with any of the above before booking.

We moved to Whaingaroa from London in Jan 2018. Tipi is Maori and Vanessa is Scottish/Chilean. We have been Airbnb hosts for a few years and love sharing our property and space with others.

Raglan is a playground for all ages. You can find all sorts of activities from hiking, fishing, paddle-boarding, mountain biking, surfing, rock climbing and kayaking. We are happy to provide the names and contact details of local businesses you can rent equipment from, or take lessons or excursions with. Enjoy some of the best coffee and food around from a range of cafes and suppliers. Our favourite caffeine fixes are Indi's and Raglan Surf Co and delicious eats from Ulo's and Iso. Located on Te Hutewai Road, we are about 10 mins from Raglan town, the last 2.5kms are on gravel. You will need a car for transport to and from. Please note there is no Uber or consistent taxi service in Raglan so please bear this in mind when booking your stay.
