Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! We are in a great location — only 5 minutes on foot from Itsukushima Shrine and Daisho-in Temple, and 15 minutes from the Mt. Misen trail entrance. You can choose between tatami rooms with futons or shared dormitory rooms with wooden beds. Dinner includes our special Mikuniya curry. We also offer private baths and rental bicycles. In the shared lounge, you can enjoy Japanese cultural experiences like calligraphy and origami, and meet people from all over the world. We hope your stay in Miyajima will be full of unforgettable memories and wonderful encounters.

【ゲストハウスならではのアットホームさを大切にしています】 三國屋は、2013年10月開業のゲストハウスです。社会科教員をしていた私の父が教員退職後、国内外の観光客に宮島の魅力を伝えたいという思いでオープンしました。
当館は世界文化遺産・嚴島神社から徒歩5分、名勝・紅葉谷公園から徒歩3分の距離にあり、四季折々に表情を変える豊かな自然に囲まれた場所に位置しています。 建物はもともとは造幣局の保養所として使われていた施設なので、一般的なゲストハウスと比べゆとりがあります。広い日本庭園、共用のリビングルーム、20畳の庭に面した大広間などを備えています。館内の調度品も重厚感のある建物に合わせ、和のしつらえを大切にしたものを選び配置しました。 一方で接客は、ゲストハウスならではのアットホームでマニュアルに捕らわれない、柔軟で丁寧な対応を心がけています。

数年前、スペインを一人で訪れたとき、たくさんの素晴らしい出会いをしました。今後もしスペインで何かが起こると、私はそこで出会った人のことを思い出し安否を気にすることでしょう。

旅をして、人と出会い直接話をすることで、馴染みのない国や地域が色鮮やかなイメージを伴うものに変わります。その人のことをもっと深く理解しようと、その国や地域の歴史文化に興味関心を持つことでしょう。自分のことももっと知ってもらいたいと、自分の暮らす国や地域のことを学び直すかもしれません。 そうすることで、多様性に気づき、お互いを思いやる気持ちが生まれていきます。世界中にそういう人ができれば、世界は平和に近づいていくと思うのです。
