Beach location and access: This apartment is very close to the beach. There are four different beach areas within 500 meters. You will have to pay for beach access, but you get 2 beach chaises and 1 sun umbrella. The price per day ranges from 10-20 euros. Local restaurants: • Cimalonga Ristorante - located in centro storico. International cuisine (10% discount for our guests) • Lido and restaurant L’ancora - seafront fish restaurant • Many more restaurants in the town and old town • Local bakeries and fruit and veg shops around the whole town. Local grocery stores: • 10 minutes’ walk to the right to get to MD grocery shop. • 10 minutes’ walk to the left to get to DeSpat grocery shop. Things to do: • Explore the old town (Centro Storico Scalea) by walking through historical streets and going several centuries back. In the 8th century, Scalea was home to the Anacoreti, an order of Byzantine Greek monks who lived an ascetic lifestyle in the Scalicella caves beneath the city. • By car – o Arco Mango in San Nicola Arcella o Orsomarso National Park with waterfalls and picnic areas o Statue of Jesus like in Rio in Maratha • Praia a Mare, Dino Island with caves to swim in and dive to see tropical sea life.
