We are Luca and Arianna, a couple on their thirties, trying to make our dreams come true. Arianna is an architect by trade but she loves to do a bit of everything and lives a social life. She is fond of reading, art and theatre. Luca is a barman, passionate about photography, good cooking and traveling (he spent two years in Australia and in S-E Asia). We both love Venice, our city, which we know very well, outside of the common tourist way and in its less known features: its architecture, secret corners that must be photographed, the peculiar places, the coolest bars and restaurants. We like to share what we know and what we are discovering and we cannot wait to do so! One of the things that we love most is having guests and sharing with people who don’t just like a quick holiday getaway, but the real discover of people and places. To us a welcoming place to stay wherever around the world has to have a spine and a “soul”. We need to feel at home and have the chance to really know different people and experience the way of living. That is what we would like to offer to our guests and, above all, a tidy and and beautiful lac. Because we deeply believe that beauty will save us!

Aria e Luce is an independent building on two levels, with private access. It is a typical Venetian house of XIX century , with high wooden ceilings, inserted in the urban fabric of Castello, in a small, very quiet and safe street. At the 1st floor there are three bedrooms (Scirocco, Zèfiro and Crepuscolo) and bathrooms, one shared between the Scirocco and Zéfiro rooms, and a private one for the Crepuscolo room, and the breakfast area. On the 2nd floor there is the independent apartment Mattino, with a fully equipped kitchen and a terrace. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and centralized automatic heating for the winter. In all the rooms our guests have at their disposal a kettle with a selection of tea and coffee and fresh water. As a free service included we offer the tiding and cleaning of bathrooms. Aria e Luce is located in a strategic area, right in the center of Venice: ten minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and from San Marco and then from the Rialto and San Zaccaria vaporetto stops. The location of the Biennale of Art and Architecture, Giardini and Arsenale, and the islands of Murano and Burano, reachable by ferry from Fondamenta Nove, are pretty close by.

Santa Maria Formosa, the campo (square) close to our B&B Aria e Luce, is one of the oldest in Venice, located here is the Querini Stampalia Foundation and of the marvellous church built by Jacopo Sansovino. We are located at the very beginning of Castello, the most “Venetian” sestiere (neighbourhood) of Venice, populated by many local residents, but just a few minutes’ walk from Piazza San Marco, Riva degli Schiavoni and Rialto. In the area there are still many traditional workshops, typical bars and "osterie" (small restaurants), as well as many other services (vaporetto ferry stops, supermarkets, essential shops and the Civil Hospital too). You will be surrounded by Venetian art and architecture, but not overwhelmed by crowds of tourists!
