The Organist House is situated in a peaceful and private area in Skálholt which is the most historical place in Iceland and is a landmark since it used to be the capital of Iceland. There you can visit Skálholt Church and take walks and look at the beautiful views of the mountains and rivers all around us.
It's in the Golden Circle area and is a perfect place to stay when taking day trips in the Golden Circle, the South Coast and the highlands of Iceland. It's only 1 hour from Reykjavik and 30 minutes from Selfoss.
There is a restaurant on site called Hvönn and means Angelica which is thought to be the prime herb in the Icelandic flora. There you can enjoy delicious meals and pastries, homemade kombucha and sauerkraut. We work closely with farmers from the local area and focus on old traditional food but put a modern twist on it.
