「Nice contact with the local landlady and a good place for a first stay in Iceland. We learned about some local dishes and customs, which was helpful.」
The house is built 1876. It has gone through several changes through time. Sunna and her mom Sigfríður bought it in the year 2012 and wanted to give visitors the chance of staying in a historical building in Reykjavík (there are not many houses this old her in Reykjavík). I Steinunn bought the house 2021 and will keep on welcome our guests to this beautiful house.
I Steinunn is the owner of the house. I run this guesthouse with our fabulous staff member Dana and Valentina. We say all for one and one for all.
This is the oldest part of Reykjavík. Four of the oldest houses are still hera in Grjótaþorpið and one of them is this house. It is brought in from Norway and goes by the name the Norwegian bakery. It was built by a Danish baker. From this location you can find all the leisure you crave. Art, food, history, people, current and so much more. Just step outside the house and you will find that this is where the stream runs.
