Our house sits in a special part of Arnarstapi, a spot where the Snæfellsjökull Glacier, North Atlantic Ocean and Stapafell Mountain can all be seen from the living room at the same time. The two bedrooms also have these incredible views but in addition the bedroom windows face north- making them a perfect spot to see the Northern Lights!
A private river runs through the backyard with little bridges that allow you to cross if exploring the property.
The glass house is located at the edge of Arnarsapi, a beautiful fishing village in the magical Snæfellsnes penisula. The house is about two and a half hours drive from Reykjavík, and about three hours from Keflavík International Airport.
This house is 95 sa meters (1000 sq ft) and has two bedrooms, an additional sleeping loft, a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a large smart TV and a dining table.
Each bedroom has a queen bed and the loft is equipped with a double bed.
The aurora borealis - northern lights: are visible (whenever they’re out) from both bedroom windows, the loft window and all common areas.
The location is perfect for nature lovers and those seeking adventure. There is a large arctic tern colony in the village itself and especially on this house’s driveway.
Along with many other birds such as kittiwakes and fulmars. Take a walk behind the house, through the wooden gate, to see another bird colony overlooking a secret waterfall.
There are two hikes walkable from the house. One in the back of the house going East along the cost and the other along the natural preserve going West from the center of the village. That hike is often referred to as “the cliffs between Arnastapi and Hellnar”.
(There are many more hiking options by car. Contact for more recommendations and for our favorites)
