We hope to add to your "Eco friendly" travel! We have added a few facilities to this aim - a bag to deposit materials for recycling, LED lights, the water heater is on a timer, water efficient toilets, filtered drinking water (no plastic bottles), the option to reuse towels. Plus the Potter’s House is a newly renovated, semi-attached unit. A real home with all the comforts. The whole house is full of handmade pottery, art and books except the four beds which all have sprung mattresses (two disguised as sofas) and everything is brand new! The house situated in a quiet area, amongst trees on the Carmel Mount close to good transport systems and easy access to great beaches, two major university campuses and quick access to northern Israel. It is a great feeling when you spend some time in a creative environment. Together, all the ceramic and art objects make the Potter's House unique and staying there is a memorable experience. And you will learn something about how clay can be formed into beautiful objects! The price includes do-it-yourself introductory breakfast, basic food ingredients (oil, salt, etc), filtered water and homemade goodies.

Amos is an architect and I am an educator and ceramic artist, PhD, interested in intercultural visual communication. I established the Haifa Center of Ceramics and Art just down the road from the Potter's House. I have lived with my husband (Amos) and sons in the Neveh Yoseph neighbourhood since 1980. We are all very involved in the local community which is now a successful model in Israel for multicultural living. The sea is great in the bay of Haifa, and we are enthusiastic swimmers, and of course, we have the best beaches in Israel.

The Potter's House is located in a multi-cultural neighbourhood between 4-7 kilometers from the different commercial centers of Haifa. The neighbourhood is on the Eastern side of the city. A short lane leads to the Potter’s House that is situated in a quiet area, amongst trees on the Carmel Mount. Although there is a country atmosphere about the area, you will be living in the middle of the city, close to good transport systems and easy access to great beaches, two major university campuses and shopping centres. A few minutes’ drive from the Potter’s House is a major road system which allows quick access to northern Israel. At the bottom of the Carmel Mount are some of Israel's best beaches and at the top is the Carmel Forest (also called Little Switzerland).
