As you will undoubtedly be aware, the small village of Doolin on the west coast of Ireland is known as the capital of traditional music in the country. Ideally situated on a quiet country road, and yet just a two minute stroll from some of Doolin’s famous traditional Irish music pubs and restaurants, the recently opened Piper’s Rest is the perfect place for you to stay while exploring this stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way. Nestling at the foot of the famous Cliffs of Moher, this harbour village is also your departure point for a trip to the Aran Islands which lie at the mouth of Galway Bay with daily ferry sailings throughout the summer months. Walk the cliffs to O’Brien’s Tower, or ramble along the many country lanes which criss-cross the famous Burren landscape. Surf or play golf in nearby Lahinch, walk on the beach in Fanore and watch the sun set on the bay from the rocks by the harbour before heading into the village to experience some of the traditional music for which the village is famed.
