Enjoy a relaxing and memorable holiday on the Wild Atlantic Way. Ballycommane House is a charming country home tucked away in the green rolling hills of West Cork, yet only a stone’s throw away from the Atlantic. Its secluded location provides the kind of tranquil environment so much sought after in today’s hectic times. This is the place to get away from it all, to just relax and unwind.
Ballycommane House is a typical Irish farmhouse which is over 100 years old. It has been extended and tastefully refurbished over the years to meet modern living standards yet has kept its rustic charm. Our four bedrooms (3 double and one twin, all en-suite) have been individually furnished to offer Bed & Breakfast accommodation with ease and comfort.
Contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere is our small and intimate set-up. It allows us to accommodate any special requests you may have.
Breakfast is taken in the cosy guests’ sitting room. Here, you may also sit and relax in the evening, with free tea and coffee making facilities provided. There is a selection of CDs, books and local maps available. Free WiFi Internet access is available throughout the house.

The beautifully landscaped gardens with their subtropical vegetation are most inviting for relaxation and contemplation. There are hidden seating areas where you can be in tune with nature and wind down. Many exotic plants from all over the world can be discovered in the gardens, including rare subtropical species thriving in this mild climate. Bathed by the warm waters of the Gulf stream, even tender plants such as palms, tree ferns and myrtles from the southern hemisphere easily grow outdoors.
Incorporating a famous Bronze-age monument, the garden also encapsulates ancient archaeology. Set on 3.5 acres (15,000 sqm) of private land in a broad valley near the charming coastal village of Durrus and just a ten minute drive from the major market town of Bantry, Ballycommane House is ideal for touring West Cork & Kerry on the Wild Atlantic Way. It’s also the perfect base for walking the Sheep’s Head, Mizen and Beara peninsula.
