Set in a quiet breezy off the road secluded spot in the small settlement of Kamaria, this newly built, contemporary house is the ideal home for a relaxed family stay and a good base to explore the region. Our home is of exquisite taste, made with high quality materials and top functionality, designed by architect Kostis Gartsos, former collaborator of famous modernist greek architect Antonakakis. The surrounding balcony areas are ideal for kids to play around, while being midst a lush quiet olive grove. We are located 15 minutes walk from the beach and 7 minutes by car to famous Foinikounta, the seaside village.
Our country home was made with a lot of love and care by my mother Eleni. Eleni loves to cook, so her kitchen on the ground floor is fully equipped with top kitchenware! We also love textiles, interior design and fine art, so you will find that all bed linen, furniture and decoration is of high quality. Finally, we have a great love for literature, film and music and we are happy to share our summer collection of music, DVDs and books with our guests. We'll be happy to have you in our warm lovely summer home and would love to share all our best advice on where to go swimming, wind surfing, eating and site-seeing around the region.
Kamaria is in the unexplored part of Messinia, in the Southwestern tip of Peloponnese. Messinia has become increasingly famous for its cultural and historical heritage, lovely, easy-access beaches and affordable delicious food. Kamaria is close to Finikounda, a cute coastal village with nice cafes and a couple of bars. For swimming, you have Mavrovouni beach just a 10 minute walk away from the house. Mavrovouni beach is ideal for families, with crisp blonde sand and clear blue waters. It's also a good spot for wind-surfing for the more sporty types. In Kamaria you will find a local tavern with delicious home-made food just two steps away from the house. The super-market is on the main road towards the beach, about 8 minutes downhill. From Kamaria you can explore Methoni, Koroni and Pylos, the three main towns with Venetian castles. If you don't mind the extra drive, you can explore beaches in the region, such as the beautiful Voidokilia close to Pylos, waterfalls at Polylimnio and beautiful Mystras up in Mount Taygetos over Kalamata. The tourist high season is around August, when it's filled with foreign and greek families, still remaining highly affordable and one of the best kept
