Carlton-in-Lindrick is a village in Nottinghamshire, approximately three miles north of Worksop. The village has a selection of shops and pubs, including the Blue Bell and the Grey Horses Inn, so you have all the essentials on hand for your time away. Featured in the Domesday Book, the village has links to Saxon times and the local church bears testament to this. The 'Devil Stone' stands outside the church and is the subject of many local legends. Carlton-in-Lindrick had a bike making and repairing business, built up by Mr Fred Hanstock, which eventually became Carlton Cycles until it was taken over by Raleigh. The village is a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding countryside, situated a short drive from the Peak District National Park and less than half an hour from Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park.
