Every building tells a story and this one certainly has a rich history! Hut 34 is one of five beautifully modernised and renovated Nissen huts that are part of the former Cultybraggan Prisoner of War Camp, just 1 mile outside Comrie. Nissen huts were commonly used in PoW camps across Britain during World War II. While they were only intended to be temporary, Cultybraggan Camp lived on after the war as a MOD training centre for more than 70 years. It’s now the only preserved Prisoner of War Camp in Scotland and has been named by Historic Scotland as a Unique Heritage Asset of International Value. Thanks to the vision of the Comrie Development Trust, who managed the Camp on behalf of the people of Comrie, five Nissen huts have been transformed into spacious, sustainable and modern self-catering accommodation. They’re ideal whether you’re a keen history buff or simply want a truly unique stay in the Perthshire countryside. While the huts retain their iconic external design, they’ve all been given a major facelift with a red roof, crisp white exterior front wall, and black door and window trim, providing an Insta-worthy contrast to the vivid greens of the surrounding Aberuchill Hills. Inside, Hut 34 has been completely transformed with a spacious open plan living room, fully-equipped kitchen and dining space full of natural light. Blond wooden floors, cream interior walls, pale furniture tones and the white cabinetry of the kitchen add to the sense of space and calm. There’s comfortable seating including a sofa bed and television for when it's time to relax, plus a dining table with seating for 4. The separate bedroom contains a king size bed, and there’s also a modern separate bathroom with a shower. KEY FEATURES Fully modernised, renovated huts. 1 bedroom - 1 x King & 1 x Double Sofa Bed 1 modern main shower room. Open plan kitchen and lounge area Dining table that seats 4.
