This property is located on an unassuming organic smallholding, some hundreds of yards away from the road, and makes a cosy cottage with a main bedroom, a dining room with the log stove, a sitting room with a sofa bed, and a shower room. Please note there is not a kitchen or kitchenette, but there is an intention that guests can self-cater within the limitations of the facilities provided. The farmyard layout means guests feel quite sufficiently private- it's not a property in the garden of the host's house. The bed is often reviewed as very comfortable, and the shower commended too. Almost everyone finds the farm special and atmospheric, maybe reminding them of long ago things, especially the big orchard that is largely untended for fifty years or so, there's lots of interest around about on the farm. Children often enjoy seeing the old fashioned sheep, hens, the fish and frogs in the Buddha pond. Guests are provided with a bottle of organic apple juice made on the property.
I love to share the special place in nature that the farm is, and what people can get from it.
We are very well situated for travel and attractions, not far off the A21 road from London to Hastings. Bodiam Castle, the river Rother and Bodiam steam train station are almost on the doorstep. Hastings, Rye and the famous beach at Camber Sands are all easily accessed by car, around 25 minutes. There is a very convenient bus for day trips to Hastings, or further. To the north, Bedgebury Pinetum and Tunbridge Wells are not far, and it's about 45 minutes to the M25 London orbital motorway and thence all destinations and airports. There are plenty of great footpath walks leading directly from the farm. Occasionally, guests will walk here from the nearest railway at Robertsbridge (I don't mind helping with rides but would appreciate a tip for diesel). There are three villages within a mile, all with pubs serving meals.
